Licensing[edit]

This is a faithful photographic reproduction of an original two-dimensional work of art. The work of art itself is in the public domain for the following reason:

Public domain

This work is in the public domain in its country of origin and other countries and areas where the copyright term is the author's life plus 100 years or fewer.

This work is in the public domain in the United States because it was published (or registered with the U.S. Copyright Office) before January 1, 1928.

This digital reproduction has been released under the following licenses:

Public domain
This work has been released into public domain by the author, on the Flickr website, where the author declared it "Public Domain Work" and tagged it with Creative Commons Public Domain Mark.
Public domain
Public Domain Mark (PDM) is not a copyright license, but a symbol used to indicate that a work is in the public domain. When the marking is applied by the author or the copyright holder, then per community consensus we consider such works as in public domain in the US and countries where it is legally possible to release own work to the public domain. In the countries where this is not possible the copyright status of the work is undetermined.
If a file is tagged with Public Domain Mark by someone other than the author or the copyright holder, a more specific copyright tag such as one found at Commons:Copyright tags/General public domain must be applied. If this is your own work, please use {{Cc-zero}} instead.

In many jurisdictions, faithful reproductions of two-dimensional public domain works of art are not copyrightable. The Wikimedia Foundation's position is that these works are not copyrightable in the United States (see Commons:Reuse of PD-Art photographs). In these jurisdictions, this work is actually in the public domain and the requirements of the digital reproduction's license are not compulsory.
