Title
"Henriette" loading cargo at Colman Dock, ca. 1910
Description

The Indianapolis and Chippewa sign at the top left indicates the photo was taken near Seattle's Colman Dock where they departed from on their Tacoma runs. Loading equipment on a vessel. Sign on dock roof 'Indianapolis and Chippewa for Tacoma,' rates and departure times.

The "Henriette" would have been loading at Pier 2, just south of Colman Dock. Operated at the time by the Northern Pacific Railway, in 1944 this was renumbered as Pier 51; it was demolished in the early 1980s for an expansion of the Washington State Ferries terminal at Colman Dock.
