Request
Requesting for these files to be updated based on their 2023 version.
References: [2] (for the Ground Force/entirety of KPA flag, use the one with the plain red background), [3] (at around 9:25, 11:11, 11:32), the text on top is "조국의 무궁한 번영과" and below is "인민의 안녕을 위하여". Center of the star is a golden emblem of North Korea. Close-up on the emblems on the flags: [4] (1:16-1:22). Dates used on the flag: Ground Force/entire KPA is 1948.2.8, Navy is 1949.8.28, and Air Force is 1945.11.29. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Migs005 (talk • contribs) 05:10, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Please create an alternative version File:Flag map of Zimbabwe.svg with the former flag of Rhodesia (1964–1968), thx. ColorfulSmoke (talk) 20:39, 19 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Graphist opinion(s)

Pictogram-voting question.svg Question Plz, describe more detail what you mean "with the former"?

@Bazylevnik0: I'm fairly sure that @ColorfulSmoke: is merely referring to the fact that the 1964–1968 Rhodesian flag is an historical flag. Sure, given that Rhodesia no longer exists as a nation (being now called Zimbabwe and all), all the national flags it ever had would technically be "historical" as well, but you get the idea. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 00:10, 27 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Pictogram-voting question.svg Question Not really get, do you mean: task is make Flag map of Zimbabwe(colors, lines, star, picture) with form(map) of Rhodesia?

@Bazylevnik0: I'm quite certain the User wants a new map created, one that has the shape of modern Zimbabwe, but is coloured in with the elements (Union Jack, sky blue background and coat of arms) of the 1964–1968 Rhodesian flag. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 12:40, 28 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

✓ Done Pictogram-voting question.svg Question

@Bazylevnik0: Nice work. Although I think the User would probably prefer it to look more like this example here, albeit with a sky blue background instead of a dark blue background. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 16:18, 28 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

  • Pictogram voting comment (orange).svg Comment, a good style to emulate when vectorising this seal is the "File:中華民國之璽.svg", this is the National Seal (國璽) of the Republic of China and is crafted in a similar style. I've attached a print of the seal in the above request so any WikiGraphist willing to take up this request can use it as a point of reference. As the other seals in this category have fully Traditional Chinese names it might be wise to follow this naming scheme for consistency and harmony's sake. Seals of the Ministries of the Republic of China (Taiwan)[edit]

Article(s): various articles. I hope to add each image to their respective ministry's Wikipedia infobox.

Request
I would like to request quite a large batch of largely similar requests, namely the vectorisation of all seals of the Ministries of the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan). All seals should be in the same red colour (including the ones in black-and-white above) as that is the standard colour of the special ink used to stamp them with.
Titles, descriptions, captions, Etc. could be wholesale copied, but rather than being categorised in the category "Ministerial seals of the Republic of China" they should be added to a new category named "SVG ministerial seals of the Republic of China" (a sub-category of "SVG seals of Taiwan" and "Ministerial seals of the Republic of China").
Note that these seals don't all use the same "type" (calligraphy) of Chinese Seal script, so even if the inscription reads "部印" for all of them every character has to be hand traced based on each seal.
If there are any questions feel free to ask me. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 21:39, 26 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Please add the house flags and logos of shipping lines. They're all very similar. The logo was created before the war, but was nationalized together with companies in the People's Republic of Poland.
  1. Polish Ocean Lines - without gold as in the given logo
  2. Polska Żegluga Bałtycka - There is a dot above the "z" and the teeth of the trident change color over the edge. Here the logo is centered.
  3. Gdynia America Line (1930-1946) - red edges instead of black ones
  4. Gdynia America Line (1946–1950)

Voivodeship road signs in Poland[edit]

Article(s): en:Voivodeship road and individual voivodeship road articles

Request

There is a problem in Category:Diagrams of Voivodeship road signs of Poland—the height in all images is 270, but widths are different everywhere. It makes them look bad in articles when used next to each other. I suggest that the dimensions be standardized, as in Category:Diagrams of national road signs of Poland. Sometimes (as in image 1), the font also needs fixing.
I managed to find some suggested dimensions in official specifications.[1] For middle-sized signs, height is always at 270, but width is not specified directly (in the example at page 468, the dimensions are about 524 × 270, but that may be different for other road numbers). 2:1 width-to-height ratio was suggested,[2] which in my opinion would be decent. Improve Sun of May Face[edit]

Graphist opinion(s)
The source you linked to is non-official and likely unreliable. So I don't think the sun should be retouched. 24.12.3.153 21:13, 29 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The sun on official flags is this one. Although it is not an official source, it resembles the face on the source I linked more than the current one. Accuratelibrarian (talk) 11:49, 1 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Accuratelibrarian: There are two major differences between what's on Commons and what's present on the "vexilla-mundi.com" website:
  • the reflective eyes
  • The color of the sun rays, whether they are half brown/half yellow or full yellow
The two flag photos provided both appear to have (1) non-reflective eyes and (2) half brown/half yellow rays, unlike what's provided on the "vexilla-mundi.com" website.
That said, I was not able to find a proper high-definition flag image from any official Uruguay website (I don't speak Spanish). Two relatively reliable sources, Britannica and CIA Factbook, disagree with each other. It is better to provide us with official legislative documents for the flag design. --Designism (talk) 14:06, 2 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
If you look closely, specially in the first and last pictures, you will notice that the eyes are reflective. I think the issue has to be with the quality of the print. Here is a picture of the sun from a flag I own. Also the lips and chin are different from the current face shown. Accuratelibrarian (talk) 16:10, 4 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Accuratelibrarian: ✓ Done, see above. I still couldn't find any official legislative document, so I guess these images would do for now. --Designism (talk) 23:36, 19 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Can someone fix the SVG file I uploaded[edit]

Article(s): Licensing tutorial for Wikimedia Commons, to be included in the new upload wizard

Request
As I mentioned in the Wikimedia Commons Help Desk, the Wikimedia server-side PNG rendering messes up this image on the upload page (only on upload page). This is how it looks on upload page imgur.com/4OG9Abd (SVG file have the encoding="UTF-8" in it). I think I can fix the issue by either replacing text with shapes or uploading a PNG image, but I don't think that is a good idea because it's not problem in SVG file to fix like that. I tried to insert the image on a page as "thumb" and with custom sizes, but there were no issues with it. This problem only occurs with the original size PNG image provided by the server. Can someone please help me to fix the upload page that I messed up? --IC9999 (talk) 08:56, 29 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Graphist opinion(s)

@IC9999: Is it still bad? This upload URL looks fine to me:

It loads the image

Which should be the same as

Licensing tutorial si.svg

The 4OG9Abd.png suggests the font did not support si/Sinhala characters. The SVG font specification is font-family="DejaVu Sans, Helvetica, sans-serif". I would not put Helvetica on the fallback list (Adobe Character Encoding). The title font is font-family:Bitstream Vera Sans, Georgia, serif;.

Hồ Chí Minh ấn (胡志明印)[edit]

Article(s):

I like to use it in a sidebar about President Hồ Chí Minh, also as an illustration of a personal seal (of a notable person) at the English-language Wikipedia article "en:Seal (East Asia)".
Request
would like to request a vectorisation of the personal seal of the North Vietnamese President Hồ Chí Minh, its inscription reads Hồ Chí Minh ấn (胡志明印) in Chinese Seal script. Perhaps is wise to use two (2) versions, one (1) with just the square seal and one with the North Vietnamese flag (like in the example above). They could be named Hồ Chí Minh ấn (胡志明印).svg and Hồ Chí Minh ấn (胡志明印) with North Vietnamese flag.svg.
I am planning on using it in a sidebar for Hồ Chí Minh-related articles.
It should be added to the categories [[Category:SVG seals of Vietnam]] and [[Category:Seals of North Vietnam]], as well as the category for Hồ Chí Minh himself ([[Category:Ho Chi Minh]]).
A good example of a similar colour scheme could be found here.

Coat of arms of the Baron of An-Phước (安福男)[edit]

Article(s): en:Coat of arms of the Nguyễn dynasty

Request
I would like to request a vectorisation of the coat of arms of the Baron of An-Phước (安福男).
It's not an exact match but I added Crown of a Baron of France.svg as a reference. The file should be named Coat of arms of the Baron of An-Phước (安福男) and the categories could be copied from the source file.

@: , wow thanks, 718smiley.svg by the way, perhaps you can upload a blank version of the shield for "Category:SVG coat of arms elements - escutcheon shapes" as I wanted to try to make this shield myself with Inkscape but I couldn't find an escutcheon with the correct shape, this could save future WikiGraphists some time with similar designs. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 11:17, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Donald Trung, I certainly can and am happy to do. But I think for an InkScape beginner, this can be a good practice opportunity to try and play with the source file yourself, especially if you feel uncomfortable about concepts like clipping masks. Coat of arms of Botswana[edit]

Changes according to official blazon
(details of your request go here…) --24.12.3.153 12:56, 19 May 2023 (UTC) The current version is unsourced, and some things are different than the official blazon. The Botswana Emblems Act at https://web.archive.org/web/20200610202729/http://www.elaws.gov.bw/desplaylrpage1.php?id=307 has the official blazon.Reply[reply]

Some changes need to be made: Since the shade of blue on the flag is also mentioned as "Botswana blue", "Botswana blue" refers to the same shade of blue as the flag of Botswana. The cogwheels should be Botswana blue. Since the bull's head is mentioned as only "brown" and not reddish-brown, that should be changed accordingly. The elephant's tusk should be white. The sorghum head should be brown and have white grains. I am unsure what is meant by "half tone" regarding the obverse of the scroll, but it might mean halfway between Botswana blue and white or approximately #B6D4E8. The reverse of the scroll should be red.
