World Nuclear Association and Women in Nuclear strengthen their partnership

Issued 25 August 2021

A new Partnership Agreement has been signed today between World Nuclear Association and Women in Nuclear Global at a virtual ceremony.

Under the Partnership, both organizations recognise their shared goal of supporting the advancement of nuclear science and technology and the global nuclear industry and agree to work together to find opportunities for joint activities and projects.

Dr. Sama Bilbao y Leon, Director General of World Nuclear Association, said: “We have had a long-standing relationship with Women in Nuclear and we are truly excited to strengthen this partnership at this critical time for the nuclear industry.

Through this agreement we will be better able to draw on the strengths of our two organizations to work together to achieve gender parity in the nuclear energy sector, by encouraging more women to pursue careers in nuclear science and technology, by giving visibility to the work of the many women working in nuclear throughout the world, and by helping organizations to implement policies that allow them to successfully engage 100% of the talent pool.”

Dominique Mouillot, President of WiN Global, said: “We are thrilled to enhance the already existing collaboration and to work together, as sister associations, to address the current challenges of the nuclear industry, especially by promoting nuclear energy as a crucial component to tackle the climate crisis. It is the only realistic vision of a clean, sustainable and abundant low-carbon future for all.

Young talent attraction is another key priority for WiN Global and for our partnership with WNA. We find it crucial to bridge the generational gap, to promote the exchange of knowledge in between generations, and to make the most of experienced women and senior leaders, so that they act as role models and mentors, and facilitate motivating opportunities for professional development, especially for young women and girls”.
